The Service currently includes a contact upload and management service (the “Contacts” feature) and an event management service (Event Planning” features). In connection with your use of the Contacts feature, you may upload personal information regarding third parties (any such information “Third Party Information”). If you use the Event Planning features to create an event, you will be required to supply us with certain information, including, without limitation, financial and budgetary information, event venue information, guest RSVP information, and similar information related to current and future event planning features of the Service. Further, you will be required to provide certain payment information, including your credit card number and billing address (the “Payment Information”). If you use the Service to register for an event or respond to an event invitation, you may supply us with certain of your personal information.
If you email us, we may keep your message, email address, and contact information to respond to your message.
We also use personal information to send you newsletters, information, offers and other promotional materials for the Services. We attempt to send you offers that are of value to you, such as discounts, exclusive offers or special event information. By registering with the Company, you are opting in to receive such emails. To stop receiving such emails (other than Operational Communications), please send a request email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you use the Contacts feature, we may store your personal information, and any Third Party Information you provide us, and use such information to enable the features of the Service. If you use the Event Planning features to create an event, we may use your personal information, and any Third Party Information you provide us, to contact you or any such third parties in accordance with your use of the Event Planning features, including contacting such parties by email, postal mail, or phone.
If you use the Service to register for an event or respond to an event invitation, we may store your personal information and use it to notify you of activities in connection with such an event. Additionally, we may share your personal information with the event organizer, and, by registering for an event, you consent to such sharing. You agree that we are not responsible for the actions of an organizer with respect to your personal information. Further, we may share your personal information with third parties to whom you provide access to the Service to help plan one or more of your events (“Gala Pals”). Such information will not include your password or Payment Information (aside from possibly the last four digits of your credit card number). We are not responsible for what those parties do with your information, so you should make sure you trust any person to whom you provide access. At any time, you can change the access you grant to Gala Pals by going to the “Gala Pals” feature section of the Site, in which event parties with whom you have shared access will no longer have access to your information.
If you receive a communication from us and you have not registered with the Service, it means that an event organizer provided us with your personal information in order to contact you in connection with such event organizer’s use of the Service. According to our Terms of Service, our customers are not permitted to use our Service to send marketing or promotional communications. We cannot guarantee that our customers will abide by our Terms of Service. If you have received an unwanted communication from us, please contact us immediately at email@example.com.
Lastly, to operate the Service, including supporting your activities on the Service, we may share your personal information with our agents, representatives, contractors and service providers so they can provide us with support services such as authorization of email origination, receipt or support services, customer relationship management services, and promotional fulfillment. We prohibit these parties from using your information for any other purpose.
Following termination or deactivation of your account with the Service, we may retain information, including profile information or other personal information, for a reasonable time for backup, audit, or regulatory purposes, or to fulfill a legal requirement.
We may review all demographic information. We may use demographic information to tailor the Service and communications to your interests, and to display targeted advertising that may be relevant to you.
The Service has industry standard security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and integrity of the information under our control. If you use the Event Planning features to organize an event, we may provide you with Third Party Information. By using the Service, you agree that, with respect to other user's personally identifiable information that you obtain through your use of the Service, including, without limitation, first and last name, email, photo, hometown, and links to Social Network accounts or user names, as applicable, you will only use such information for: (i) Service related communications that are not unsolicited commercial messages; and (ii) any other purpose that such user expressly agrees to after adequate disclosure of such purpose. Under no circumstances can you disclose personally identifiable information about another user to any third party without our consent and the consent of such other user. If you use the Service to register for or to respond to an invitation to an event, we urge you to think carefully about including any specific information you may deem private on the Service.
There are two types of cookies: session-based cookies and persistent-based cookies. Session-based cookies exist only during an online session. They disappear from your computer when you close your browser software or turn off your computer. Persistent-based cookies remain on your computer after you have closed your browser or turned off your computer. They include such information as a unique identifier for your browser. Standing alone, cookies do not contain personal data, and therefore do not identify you personally; they merely recognize your browser. Unless you choose to identify yourself to us by registering with and logging into the Service, you will remain anonymous to us.
